Choosing A Domain Name?

Choosing a domain name for a website that you need to set up as an affiliate website is quite easy and one that is fun to try and find the keyword combinations that are right for your intended affiliate site.

Ideally you want something relevant and one that explains the reason and purpose for your website to the casual but targeted internet searchers and surfers, often no more than three words that fit together to make a niche market phrase or something that is descriptive of your site.

Below is a link to GoDaddy.com which is one of the top domain name registrars on the face of the internet and it is very easy to locate a valid domain name. All you do is search for what domain name you want by typing in the search box and choosing what domain extension you want like .com or .net and the result will appear and tell you whether it is available or not.

You can buy domain names very cheap and I recommend you have them auto renew each year so that no one else can steal your great domain names.

Domain names are very important to show to others that your affiliate website is a professional one and that you are taking the business of affiliate marketing very seriously indeed.

What is a domain name?
A domain name is a Web address, such as godaddy.com, that is linked to an IP address (which represents a physical point on the Internet). When someone types a domain name into a Web browser, the requested Web page displays.

A domain name consists of a top-level and a second-level domain. A top-level domain (TLD) is the part of the domain name located to the right of the dot (godaddy.com). The most common top-level domains are .COM, .NET, and .ORG. Some other popular top-level domains are .BIZ, .INFO, .NAME and .WS. These TLDs have certain guidelines but are, for the most part, available to any registrant, anywhere in the world.

The part of the domain name located to the left of the dot — "godaddy," in this case — is called the second-level domain (SLD) name. The second-level domain name is the "readable" part of the address and refers to the organization or entity behind the Internet address. Second-level domain names must be registered with an Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)-accredited registrar.

6 tips for a great business card online or offline

Business cards come in many formats, but they should all have the same important factors so that they get noticed by potential clients who see them.

1. First you need to provide simple information and references that are short so that your potential business associates or customers are clear on what it is that you are backing on behalf of your business goal, the main objective, the main product or service that you provide.

2. Displaying your photo on your card goes a long way in branding yourself to your business services and products, people will more than likely remember a face than just a wordy business card, and more importantly a name to go with the face.

3. Always stick to the standard credit card size business card as this is small and just enough for people to handle and not to be overwhelmed by, it also is useful to have something that fits into your pocket or wallet for easy reference later on.

4. Include a catchy slogan that engraves your business in time and places your business name up there with the best of your competition, and remember if you get your slogan out there, then there will be more of a chance that you will get people recognising it more often and once a brand is recognized, then there is no stopping it from nationwide if not global recognition.

It's best to trademark your slogan, so long as it is not too descriptive and does not tread on other companies toes, and of course online it is also best to add your main long tail keyword search terms into your slogan or brand catchphrase, five to six words are usually enough for the purposes of a business card.

Additionally a logo could just be your trademark image that you want people to recognize, so it's entirely up to you.

5. Always have extra cards printed out so that you have the opportunity to give them out to extra people you wouldn't ordinarily think of, such as friends of friends or friends of colleagues or business partners, this makes your business spread virally in the offline world, especially if you have an unbeatable service that is unmatched by anyone else in the industry.

6. Keeping your card updated with current contact information is vital to your business success and growth, so make use of both sides of the business card to include valid contact details such as a postal address, phone number, email and if applicable a fax number.

Bear in mind there are other points to note about a great business card but the ones to really think about are the ones above and making it as clear as possible and less wordy for the casual reader who may not have the time, it has to have that attention grabbing quality about it, plus there are some targeted aspects to your business aswell, but in all your business card should speak volumes in as little content as possible directing to your business web address.

You could however create an online ecard that is essentially a business card but sent through email, that is the power of online publishing today!

Landing Pages, Opt In Pages, Squeeze Pages

Whatever you call them, they all do the same job of capturing your subscribers email address, so that you can follow up with them in a more personal and professional way....

All you need is an autoresponder to add to your squeeze pages so that people can sign up to the plug in digital product offers, and it is very simple to create a squeeze page, the site walks you through the process in 8 steps, you can see a hub page all about it here.

For affiliate marketing, all you need is a series of emails related to a targeted affiliate progam that you want to explain in detail about, so that people can join, become your referral and either earn you commissions on a tiered commission level basis or they buy a one time or monthly fee upgrade which pays you in affiliate commissions preferrably on a residual commission rate.

Squeeze pages are usually short and to the point affairs that just serve as the hook to gather subscribers, but not in an underhanded way. Something relevant, and one that could potentially be something that they want, maybe a free report on the cross stitch patterns of uncle Fred, whatever make sure you offer your subscribers something free to get them to subscribe to your information series.

And make sure the free report is a quality report that is valuable to the reader who downloads it after subscribing.

Setting Up Professionally Optimised Url Links Is Important For Affiliate Promotions

Setting up your links to be and look professional and then with some way to measure and track your results is the best way to go, most people fail to use the right type of affiliate links because that either don't know how to use professional links or they think it's quicker just to use a standard affiliate link.

So the key to setting up better looking affiliate links is with a a link redirect, these are either html or php based and are very easy to implement, html redirects are done through having your own domain name and placing a small snippet of code where you need to and it will redirect through your affiliate link smoothly, without actually exposing your affiliate link, or there are php redirect software that will save a file that is uploaded to your website and make the file hide your affiliate link, like it's part of your website.

There are other html encryption methods out there too and they are free to use, just Google it and you will recieve.

A good redirect software hides your affiliate link so no other spyware software can erase your affiliate link for the spyware user to replace with their own affiliate link and steal your commissions.

Although link re-directs are not a good thing for the search engines as they seem to penalize them, they are excellent for newsletters and email autoresponder messages as they appear professional and include the domain name of your site within the url.

Monetize your site

There are numerous monetizing options for your site and you don't have to simply rely on adsense, especially if you get banned from using adsense as there are many who do, one of the alternatives I use is Adbrite and they have some extra monetizing options such as video and photo ads and actual relevant ads that are targeted towards your site or blog.

Other ways you can monetize your site is to add affiliate links that are related to your topic or niche of your website and target the links towards keyword optimized affiliate anchor text links, this way it will help somewhere along the lines of within the search engines, this will boost your search engine ranking more too.

Creating and adding your own products and selling them from your site is also a good idea too, as the more people you get to know and trust you the better, recommendations of sites always come from people who think your website is of great use.

Building your credibility is an important factor for people to recognize you as the expert in your niche and they will turn to you for support and guidance in the interested area.

I once thought I had no skills in being an expert, I always thought that dull jobs were the way to go and that's all I'd ever end up doing, but you have to realise your skills and your special talents, because if you don't, then you have just wasted an opportunity to shine for once in your life.

That's when I found out that I loved to write and I also knew early on in life I loved to draw, so I concentrated on both, seperately for a time and then I decided to do both together for awhile, working on several personal projects online to get a feel for the internet and this is about the time I discovered affiliate marketing and what it had to offer the online earning enthusiast.

I realised that I had to make a start to create my own line of products and promote them, while I am still in the process of doing so, I have learned a considerable amount of techniques and tips and tricks about affiliate marketing that I will apply in my own online businesses.

Targeted ads and links only go so far, it's creating excellent content that is not only useful but is thoughtful to the reader and builds on motivation and inspiration as the key benefits of your products and services.

The quality of your sites and products make a good first and lasting impression on the average customer, sites are often revisited if they are professional looking and are open to growth and regular updates of useful information.

5 Ways ExitExplosion.com Will Multiply Your Web Traffic

As I'm sure you know already, ExitExplosion.com is taking the
Internet Marketing world by storm.

They've taken the tried-and-true concept of a traffic exchange,
and combined it with the "exit grabber" -- one of this year's
most powerful marketing innovations.

Here's 5 simple ways that ExitExplosion.com will multiply
the traffic coming to your website..

1. ExitExplosion.com takes the traffic that is ALREADY
leaving your website, and turns that traffic into
"credits," which then earns you more traffic. And then,
yes, that new traffic will eventually leave your site,
and earn you credits again! I know it sounds crazy, but
this really does keep looping around over and over...

You have to see it to believe it...

2. You earn credits on everyone you bring into the system,
10 levels deep. So, this "looping" process described
above will be happening to everyone you refer into the
system, and everyone they refer, and then everyone THEY
refer, etc. for 10 levels. Can you handle that?

3. ExitExplosion is rediculously easy to set up on your
web site (it really does take only a few seconds), so
there's no worry that you or anyone you refer will be
able to set it up. This just makes the speed at which
your traffic grows virally that much faster.

4. Their system is based on the revolutionary "ExitGrabber"
technology, which is completely unblockable. So, 100%
of your credits will be put to good use. This has
got to be one of the most reliable ad-delivery methods
to date.

5. It cannot negatively impact your site or your marketing
at all, since it only shows up once it's already
calculated that people are LEAVING your site. Once
someone's already decided to leave, why not at least
turn that into something beneficial?

I could go on and on, but there's only so much you can learn by
me talking. I mean, I could sit here and tell you about how
to play tennis all day, but you'd only really ever learn if you
picked up a racket and gave it a shot, right?

And in this case, since their site is free to use and only takes
a matter of seconds to set up, it's best if you just try it out
for yourself.

You can take it off just as easily if it doesn't work for you.

But I doubt that'd happen :)

Here's the URL for their site:

Optimizing Your Site, top ten checklist notes

For best results I have compiled a short checklist of the top things you should check and do on your websites for maximum search engine friendliness.

1. Make sure your best keyword appears in bold somewhere on the top of the page or at the top of the body of your text.

2. So make sure your keyword appears at the beginning and the end of 50 words.

3. Check to make sure no stop words appear in your title tag, as spiders do not like these very much, stop words are words like: and,

4. Make sure your keyword is included in the title.

5. make sure your keyword is in the meta tag keywords list at the beginning.

6. Put your keyword in bold once in your content.

7. Make sure your page content is between 100 and 1400 words.

8. Make sure your keyword is in the first 3 alt image attributes and is in 3 of them in total.

9. Your main keyword should not be over used and should remain at a 2% rate through out your content.

10. Include your keyword in the first heading tag at the top of the page.

Generate targeted traffic to your website

There may be other things you can do, but above all else you should concentrate on making your site filled with informative and relevant content that relates to your main keywords and is SEO friendly.

Focus on building and organizing your lists

What ever online business ventures you are a part of you really need to think about building your lists as these will form the central core of your audience and captivate them through email follow ups, of course you need to seperate from the fact that information is to be presented at a price...your time.

Time is one of the many reasons why people will fail in their new businesses and the lack of managing their time adds to that statistic also, you need to become more organized for your business to succeed.

And organizing your lists are as important, because over time you will have built up several if not at least 20 to 30 (maybe more?) seperate email follow ups in your autoresponder, so naturally you need to be organized so you don't get confused with what your list promotes and delivers what type of content, I myself have a simple method to keep organized.

All you do is create a simple chart with all the list names and you place it where you can see it each day and whenever you add a new list you add it to the chart, you'll want to create a simple byline of what each list is about so you remember not to cross the same content into the other lists, I've found this to be an effective method of keeping my lists organized and plus I see my list chart every time I sit at my computer so I'm always reminded of what goes where.

And this also helps me to focus on bringing my other affiliate campaigns together.

Effective Squidoo Lenses

Squidoo is the fairly recent way of building your own websites without really knowing any html and other web design technical know how to create your site.

Your Squidoo sites are called lenses and with these you can add lots of different module sections to your lens to add varying levels of interest or interactivity such as shopping and online participation such as polls and guestbook discussions.

There are other venues of earning money also, such as Ebay, Amazon and the Superstore aswell as Cafepress and even your own affiliate products and services you wish to promote, but by far the overall efective way of making a great lens is unique and original and thoughtful content and building a lens around this instead of the single idea of earning money, this is an after thought and should not be the sole purpose of you Squidoo lens.

You can add text modules to your lens, which are sort of like mini blog posts these are limited to 2500 characters and you should try and fit some quality content into these, maybe you have a niche about making handbags so you might go through a particular article of finding the right materials to do so, but then you decide to split your article into parts were in each part you describe different aspects of the hand bag niche, thus creating a well looked forward to lens with new updated content being added all the time.

Update and keeping your content fresh on these Squidoo lenses is highly important you should not let your lens go stale as they will slip in the search engine rankings once established, but this should be easy to do if you are really interested and into your niche market area.

Your lenses title and decriptions are important too, as it acts like your website meta tags, so it advisable to place your targeted keywords in here and always keep them optimized and checked against what's being actively searched upon.

Like everywhere on the internet though spam is becoming a problem, just recently Squidoo was google slapped as too many people were spamming the system and causing some of the search engines to drop some listings as it contained duplicate content, but now there are certain points in place to prevent this, even though after all this Squidoo is still highly ranked with the search engines especially Google.

Squidoo is a really easy site to create extra pages to either compliment your own website or blog or just stand alone promotional campaigns for certain hobbies or services and products.

long tail keywords and the relevance of them

It is most understood now days that keywords are meant to drive traffic to your sites from the search engines but how do you compete with all the top keywords that the top sites are dominating?

Well there are many ways and some are easier than others, but the one I'd like to mention is the long tail keyword method!

Think about when you yourself search for something online it is usually a good few words strung into a sentence to form a good foundation of search to find the information or products you want so think about what you would type in to your search box, think about your potential visitors and what they might type in.

While it is best when starting your website to target low rated keywords so you can dominate them and start to build up a reputable form of keyword networking on your sites, blog your keywords in the form of anchor text in your many links, cross link everything until you have a good strong network of valid high quality links, any links such as one way links, reciprical links or even if you can manage it three way linking.

Long tail keywords can be from 2 to 6 words or more, but try to research good keywords you can use as a quality phrase that you know people would search for, use the overture tool to research your keywords

Remember long tail keywords are good solid methods of placing your keywords around the internet, so have fun finding new places to add your links and try to vary your keywords and ads so that they don't get penalized as duplicate links or even content.

The Basics of Traffic Generation

If you are like the millions of website owners internet-wide, you have the goal of gaining a massive amount of traffic. By doing what it takes to generate traffic, you will be able to sit back and enjoy the benefits. Some benefits of increased traffic include more sales and more members, which essentially equals more revenue for your business. Of course, we all want to experience more visitors to our site and more revenue, but to do this you must know the essentials of traffic generation.

There are a wide variety of actions you can implement to increase the traffic to your website. Some of these include, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), advertisement, creating links, writing articles, blogs, and making use of forums. Any of these techniques along with a wide variety of others can help you generate traffic to your website. Since we are talking about the basics within the article, we are going to stick with the two easiest forms of traffic generation: links and articles.
Send me One Million FREE Guaranteed Visitors

Both of these forms of traffic generation are extremely popular, go together, and work well if done correctly.

Link Building

This is one of the most important aspects of traffic generation. Additionally, this is widely used within SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Search engines look at the number of links to and from a website in order to determine its page rank. Link exchange began long ago as a way to point to sites that you favored or that of friends. Today link exchange works in a lot more ways and generates FREE traffic directly to your website.

There are many ways you can go about building links to your website. One popular way is to take advantage of the many link exchanges available throughout the internet. This is the practice of placing your website link on the website of another and then placing their link on your website. This is also known as reciprocal links. If you think about it, it is free advertisement for your site. Because there are so many websites that participate in link exchanges, you would probably want to take advantage of an automated software to help you with this. The software would find the link exchanges for you and even fill in parts of the different fields for you.

Another way to take advantage of using links is to add your website link into the signature of every forum or blog post, and email you write. More people look at this information than you think and could be an excellent form of advertisement.

Using Articles to Boost Your Traffic

Yes, articles, just like the one you are reading, can be used to generate a massive amount of traffic for your website. If you are a great writer, the process is easy. First, you choose a topic of internet for your readers. This topic should have something to do with your website such as the services you offer, the products you sell, or your website in general. You can place a direct link to your website several times within the article. One thing you definitely want to include in all of your articles is a “Resource Box”. This resource box allows you to tell a little bit about yourself, your company, and provide a link to your website.

Even if you are not a writer, there are many freelance writers all over the web that will be happy to help you. After the article is written, you would submit to the many article directories and watch your traffic grow enormously.

How to go from a Dead Website to Raging Buyers: Building Your Opt In Cash Cow

by Juan Pablo Cangas

Almost everyone, from the all-star "guru", to the small guy
promoting his humble website, says "The money is in the list".
And, really, having an opt-in list you can call your own
is crucial for succeeding online.

This one little "secret", can make all the difference for you,
between making a few sales here and there,
to consistently making money out of thin air, literally.

Here’s an outline of some of the benefits you get
from maintaining your own opt-in list.

- Ability to generate traffic (and sales!) on demand
- Leverage potential
- Advertising revenue

How to generate traffic and sales on demand:

Having an opt-in list, is like owning a “sales & traffic” button!
You’re literally a “send” button away from generating
traffic & sales anytime you want to, because if your list is
well-targeted, they *will* read and respond to your offers.

Of course, this doesn’t mean you can spam your list
with ads every time you want, as they will probably
unsubscribe, even get mad if you do. But if you keep
your communications useful to your readers,
you will see great responses!

Leveraging gold from your subscriber’s contact network:

I like to think about my list as my joint venture partners.
Think about it, it’s very realistic to assume that some
of your subscribers do have their own list and contacts.

If you can get your subscribers promoting your products
(even as second-tier affiliates), you’re leveraging
their resources to your benefit. That’s working smarter,
not harder.

Easily generating advertising revenue :

Do you think advertisers would be interested in
running an ad on your targeted, highly-responsive
opt-in list? You bet they do!

Running advertising inside your publications can be
a great source of extra income, with almost no work
involved from you!

Let’s say you charge $5 for publishing a top sponsor ad
in your bi-weekly newsletter. That makes you a
maximum of $10 a week, or $40 a month,
just for adding an ad to a message you were sending anyways
(I’m not even considering other type of ads here).

Not bad for covering your business expenses, say,
your web hosting and autoresponder account.

You can make some good money from running ads
on your publications, once your subscriber base reaches
a decent size. And as your list grows, you can increase
your prices, too! Just be sure not to turn your
mailings into a classified board instead of a good read,
or your subscribers might start opting-out.

There’s plenty of reasons for building an opt-in list.
It’s so important, that many experts recommend
you make list building your top priority when
doing online business. Start building or growing
your list today, so you can reap the rewards tomorrow!

What's the best way to build your own online business quick?

When thinking of this question, it's best in thinking in terms of marketing other peoples products online rather than at first trying to come up with your own products straight away, although you will have to think about starting your own product or service soon as this will help your business growth, but for the time being stick to learning and growing ideas on how to profit from other peoples products for now.

There's alot of information out there for the online business beginner to handle, so just pick one or two top marketers and just go with what they teach as you'll only confuse yourself with lots of different versions of supposed truth about online internet marketing, and plus you'll save mony on learning products and services too.

One of the best foundations of building an online business is to partner or JV (Joint Venture) with some other online business entity, company or sole trader through which you can share mutual benefits of traffic generation and sales of each others products, this makes both sides very comfortable in achieving their goals online as both sides win on many levels.

Affiliate marketing relies on quality information being available for anyone to access online or through someones list or blog and this is constantly drip fed to potential visitors and new visitors alike, eventually turning these visitors into repeat visitors much like a real high street store, the more you give the more they come back!

While this is true on many levels you have to always keep track of the supply and demand statistics of your regular research, you have to constantly be ahead of your game and be aware of seasonal trends and whether they will affect your current business model, keyword resaerch is vital as you will always want to keep track of what people are searching for on the internet and what people are buying.

You can survey your customers to see what they would like to see on your site or any products they would potentially buy, this form of customer feedback is what the main companies and retailers do to obtain valuable consumer insight into what the public buyers want, this type of information is invaluable to the market research crowd who collect all this data on behalf of certain corporations.

The Keys to Your Keyword Research

Since the internet is the information super highway of the 21st century then it stands to reason that road signs are needed to take internet users where they want to go. If you are doing business online, you want those signs to guide people straight to your website. Enter keyword.

If content is king (and it is) then keywords are the queen. Choose the right keywords, then step back and watch search engines bring you more web site traffic. On the flip side picking the wrong ones or at least words that are too general in nature can relegate your website to internet obscurity. That is why it is very important to get you keyword marketing off to a good start by researching compiling and analyzing your keyword list.

You can use any keyword tool available to do your research. The big enchilada is of course Overture. Just type in your word or phrase and then check out the results. Is there a potential target market available? Higher search results mean more competition. There is nothing wrong with that, it just means you will have to work a little bit harder. Compile all words and phrases that fit your niche into a list.

Next comes the analyzing stage. The goal here is to edit your list down to those keywords that will get you the highest number of visitors who would most likely be interested in your product or content. How do you do this? By evaluating 3 elements of the keywords you choose

a. How Popular is your Keyword? This is pretty easy to measure. Just go to Overture and find out how many people are searching using that specific word.

b. How specific is your keyword? Let's say you are building a website on Paris Hilton (I know but it's just an example). There are over 1.6 million searches using just her name. That would be a lot of competition. However the keyword phrase Hilton Paris scandal yields 2,144 search results. That means less competition, higher ranking in the search engines and a greater chance of people finding your website.

c. What's the incentive? This is where you want to do a little role play with your target audience. The goal is to find people who are motivated to take action now no matter if it's buying your product, reading your content or clicking on a link. There are various tools and software to measure consumer trends in relation to site traffic.

As you have probably figured by now all of this involves a lot of trial and error. There is more to keywords than just search results. You have got to know what words and phrases are triggering action. For this reason you need first and foremost to study your target market thoroughly.

To make your keyword marketing a success requires constant evaluation. The good part is once you put your system of research, compiling and evaluation into place, the process will flow more quickly and smoothly right toward your online success.

5 Ways To Promote Your Online Business For Free

As you know the cost of promoting your business is just outrageous. This is especially true if you are just starting out. You get into this business to make money and right off the bat you are being asked to spend hundreds of dollars to promote your site or business. And in doing so there really is no guarantee that you will get visitors to your site let alone customers that are ready to buy. Fortunately, I will be going over 5 ways you can promote your online business, and the best part is that all 5 ways are absolutely free, well almost they will cost you some time.

One of the first ways you want to promote your business is to write and submit a press release. There are many press release sites that you can submit to for free. What you want to do is write a good informative story about your business. It would also be a good Idea to include some information about you and how you came about starting your business. This is a great way to get some interest and exposure to your business.

Next would be using traffic exchanges. Traffic exchanges are good in that they give your business exposure to others trying to promote their own business. What you are basically doing in traffic exchanges is surfing for traffic, at the same time there are hundreds of others that are doing the same thing. The more you surf the more credit you get. As your credits grow so does the amount of times your page is shown. This is a good way to get traffic to your site and a great way to build your list.

Online forums are also another great way to promote your business. In forums you will find a wealth of information from members who have been in business for a while. The forum community is a great place to share ideas and get feedback on your own projects. As you grow in the forums you will find that you start giving advice to newbies who ask questions. This happens fairly quickly. One thing to remember about forums is that they are not a place to advertise your sites. You do promote by having your signature file. It is included at the end of every post. Your signature file links to your site, so the more active you are in the forum the more trust you build. This will cause people to click on your links.

Blogging is another excellent way to promote your site. All you need to do is set up a blog and submit to it every day. After each post or update make sure you ping the site so that it gets submitted to blog directories. Another great way to use blogging is to surf other blogs that have content relevant to your site. Read different posts and submit comments to the posts. At the end of your comments make sure that you include a link to your site or blog this way people who read your comments and like what you have to say they will probably visit you site.

Finally there is article writing. This is probably my favorite way of generating traffic. The more articles you write and submit to directories the more traffic and back links you will build for your site. Also article writing is a great way for you to learn about the subject you are writing about. If you want to write about a subject and do not know too much about it, all you have to do is a little research before you write the article. After writing a few articles on the same subject you start to distinguish yourself as an expert in that area. That is a good shot to your credibility.

As you can see these 5 ways to promote your business are pretty good but they do take some time to complete. As they say nothing really is free. But I can tell you from experience putting the time in to do these 5 things consistently will do wonders for your business. So what are you waiting for? Get Busy.

Quick Tip For Using Traffic Exchanges

One of the best tips I always try to stick to when using traffic exchanges is to only promote your opt in pages rather than your affiliate links to the affiliate websites, this creates more of a chance that someone will subscribe to your squeeze page than a normal affiliate link page.

You want to write a good headline for your opt in page and yes keep it short and bare in mind that when people use traffic exhcanges they are there to build up surfing credits so they may only have 20-30 seconds viewing time on your web page, so the trick is to make that 20-30 seconds count, by not over selling anything and just providing a few benefits of your free offer or report that your viewers can download.

Use bullet points to list the benefits, but remember not to give away too much at this stage as you can add further information in the email follow ups you send them, at the end of the opt in page, you could provide a strong call to action, like enter your name and email address for instant access to my free report! (or something along these lines!)

Keep up the promotions and to your success everyone!!

What DO You Need to Build a Successful Internet-based Home Business?

By Lynne Homewood

About the Author Lynne Homewood is changing the way business is done online with the unique vision of her latest Home-Biz venture.
Website URL http://www.globalepro.com

What DO you need to build a successful Internet-based Home Business?

I am asked that question almost every day. Obviously, MANY people would love to make some money with their computer, but they have no idea HOW! What's worse, they often try and just end up losing money due to
either their own lack of experience or the fact that there are just so many scams out there built to make 'The Company' money not YOU!

The most important part of an Internet-based business is your website. It is your salesman, your image builder, the first, and possibly ONLY, contact you will have with your potential customers and clients.

Therefore, you want a very professional-looking site and that means no misspelled words, no bad grammar, no clashing colors, and an easy-to-read layout. You also want to make sure you have a webpage that loads quickly (too slow and many visitors will leave before they even see it) and that usually means go easy on the graphics.

If you've been on the Internet/Home Business scene for any length of time at all, you've no doubt heard that "the money is in the list", you MUST have your OWN mailing list to succeed. In order to build your own list you need a lead-capture system.

The best lead-capture systems generally employ a relatively short webpage, offering something free, in return for a visitor's name and email address, while the visitor agrees to receive email from the webpage owner. If this system is tied into an autoresponder, all the better: statistics tell us that most people view an ad or are exposed to a product at least 7 times before they decide to buy. An autoresponder allows you to send a series of messages, providing that repeat exposure automatically.

A great advertising plan is also essential to a successful business, online or off. We are extremely fortunate that there are quite a number of cheap (and even free) Internet-based advertising systems and strategies that
actually work. The trick online, even more than in the 'real' world, is VOLUME. Great copy-writing is also crucial: an ad (especially a headline) that stands out can bring an incredible click-thru ratio. Pair that with riveting web-copy and you've got a winner!

Since most people start a Home Business in their spare time, and work a 'regular' job as well, automation is also key to a successful business. A home business that requires you to spend hours on the phone, selling, recruiting, training, conferencing, etc. can be difficult, even impossible, for the average person. Further, most people do not enjoy this type of work, and it can be a real drain on your time, as well as your emotions, dealing with the dreaded 'rejection factor'.

People who start an Internet-based business, or who want to "make money with their computer", expect to use their computer to do a lot
of the work for them, and rightly so. An Internet-based business, especially, should be as automated as possible. Automation is really the ONLY way a person can build a SUCCESSFUL business in a reasonably short amount of time.

Money. It's kind of what it all comes down to in the end, isn't it? Starting and building ANY real business costs money. And most people start a home business because they NEED money. The ultimate solution to this problem is a business that requires a very small amount of 'front' money
and monthly overhead that pretty much anyone can afford.

Combine this with immediate income to help you balance the budget that caused you to look for another income source in the first place. Oh, and a nice, steadily-growing residual income for the future would be nice too. Accomplishing this delicate balance generally requires multiple streams of
income.

So, then, let's review what you need to build a successful Internet Business:

- a great, professional-looking, fast-loading, well-written
website
- a lead-capture system
- an autoresponder to tie into the lead-capture system
- something you can give away free (preferably something
very valuable that your customer can't get anywhere else)
- advertising sources and systems that WORK and that you
can AFFORD
- great ad copy/emails/ecourse/newsletter,etc.
- automation system(s)
- multiple streams of income

That may sound like an awful lot, but you can find some help 'out there' capable of shortening the learning curve considerably. And, when you do, you'll LOVE it when the plan comes together!

How To Make Your Blog More Profitable

How To Monetize
Your Blog More Effectively

So you've done the hard work...you've chosen
the niche market that you are going to target, you've created
the content that they'd be interested in, you've implemented
your onpage and offpage search engine optimization and finally
you've managed to establish your blog in it's market and are
being rewarded by a steady flow of traffic from the search
engines and other sources.

Now - Your BIG question is -

"How do you convert this steady flow of traffic into money"?

You will no doubt already be trying certain
methods, an AdSense ad here and an affiliate link there, for
example, but there's something new that I wanted to tell you
about.

This "something new" will do three
things for your blog:

1. It will instantly make it more profitable.

2. It will give it more keyword rich content pages which will
give it more search engine rankings which will increase that "steady flow
of traffic" and make it even more profitable.

3. It will give it another dimension further distinguishing
it from its competitors whilst enhancing your visitors experience.

So what is this "something new"?

It's a clever piece of software called Build
A Niche Store
and what it does is enable you to instantly build an affiliate
store made up of eBay's products and matched to your target niche.

This means that if you have a Golf blog, with
Build A Niche Store you will be able to add all of eBay's
golf products to it, and if you have an Antiques blog then
you will be able to add all of eBay's antique items...you
get the idea.

You simply install the script, choose your niche, press build
and you automatically have your own niche specific affiliate store which updates
automatically (Yes - NO data feeds!) and which:

1. Will generate money for you when one of
your blog visitors buys an item through it.

2. Will give your blog hundreds or thousands
(depending on your niche) content rich product pages which
will get indexed in the search engines targeting keywords
you would otherwise not be reaching.

3. Will add a shopping experience for your visitors.

It's truly a great piece of software and looks set to become
all the rage in the coming year.

You can check out the official Build A Niche Store website where
you'll find case studies and a live demo which is sure to get your creative
juices flowing at the link below.

This one gets my thumbs up!

The Use Of Product Reviews In Online Marketing

Most people doing Marketing today
know that they should be using product reviews
as part of their Marketing efforts.  However,
lately I've been hearing more people complain
that they can't do this because they are not writers
and don't know how to write "product reviews."

In all honesty, it takes even a good
writer about 1 hour for each new niche
product they research. Between finding
the niche, finding a product, seeing
if it has an affiliate program, researching
the product and then finally writing
the review - it can take an hour easily!

So assuming you value your time at
about $50/hour, that means that each
product review you write costs you
about $50!

And, you STILL may not have a good
product review. I mean do you really
know what elements should be included
in the review? How much information
should you really give?

You know, even "I" still don't know
how to write great product reviews
yet - they're very tricky because they
have to be short but convincing.

So, I have an entire professional
writing staff - their entire job is
to just sit there, find niches for
me and then write as many product
reviews for that niche as they can.

And...they write GREAT reviews!

Now, for a limited time, you can literally
"STEAL" the work my writers do for me!

Yes, you can basically grab 100 of the
product reviews I've had written for me
and you can use them however YOU
want and keep 100% of the profits!

You save about 99% on your cost!

Check it out today and see how you can
get quality reviews each month for LIFE
and you'll only pay $0.47 per product review!

I'll see you there,

How to Build a Huge Opt-In List as an Affiliate

How to Build a Huge Opt-In List as an Affiliate
Copyright © 2006 Anik Singal

One of the biggest mistakes I see affiliates making
everyday is that their building a short-term business where
they just make a small living one sale at a time. If they
stop running ads today, their business would shut down!

The strategy we’re going to discuss now will allow any
affiliate to build a long-term business. This strategy will
allow you to upsell your visitors for expensive services.
Even more importantly, by using this strategy you’ll soon
become recognized as an expert in your field and making
money will be all the easier!

So what is this strategy?

You guessed it, it’s building an opt-in list, a
newsletter or ezine.

By having an opt-in list you’re building a customer base
instead of just small sales! You can sell the same customer
over and over without having any more advertising costs.
You build a trust with your readers that allows them to be
loyal in doing business through you affiliate link!

So, as an affiliate, how do you build an opt-in list?

===============
How to Build the List
===============

The simplest way I have found is to start deferring all of
my traffic that I pay for to an opt-in page. After the
person opts-in, have them land on a thank you page where
you pre-sell them for the affiliate product.

So, you’re probably already building traffic to your site
now, instead of sending that traffic directly to your
affiliate link, send it to a page that has an opt-in.

==========================
How Should My Opt-In Page Look?
==========================

The next most popular question is how to make the opt-in
page look. Believe it or not, there actually IS a strategy
behind this. Your page MUST be small, short and to the
point. This means that you should NOT have a long sales
letter type page to get them to opt-in.

Your entire opt-in page should fit in one screen with NO
scroll down bar. Have a strong headline, 5-6 bulleted
benefits and then a nice big opt-in. You’ll be amazed at
how high the results can be.

=======================
Quick Ways To Generate Traffic
=======================

The point of this article is not to teach you how to drive
traffic to your website, but here are 5 really quick
techniques to use so you can test what you just learned.

1. Article Submissions - Submit articles around the web
regarding your niche and have your biography link go to a
opt-in page. You’ll be amazed at how well this technique
works in building a list.

2. Pay Per Click - The easiest way to immediately begin
getting traffic. Send all of your paid traffic directly to
the opt-in page, then have the person land on a page that
pre-sells the product they were looking for. Make sure to
test this, sometimes your conversions on the front-end can
fall, but they increase over the long-run.

3. Ezine Ads - I have found Ezine ads a great way to
quickly and cost effectively boost my list. Write an ad
promising a free membership or information and send
the traffic to an opt-in page.

4. Viral Marketing - This form of marketing takes some time
to kick in but can be extremely effective! Other people
will spread your message and your message will have links
to your opt-in page.

5. Linking strategy - This option is a bit more work, so
only use it once you have tested and know that you have a
winner. Start trading links with related websites and you
will see a great boost in traffic.

=========
Conclusion
=========

In conclusion, make sure you understand that you should be
building a long-term affiliate business and not just
something that makes you a few dollars on one sale. If you
ever stop advertising, you want to be in position to still
have a powerful business. Building a large opt-in list will
also position you as the expert in your niche.

Finally, remember to make sure that your opt-in page fits
on one computer screen and is small. Always test the page
by quickly driving some traffic.

What do People Want Online?

It’s not what you think it is.

by Jay Conrad Levinson

What people want online is a question guerrillas ask
themselves a lot. Whether it's for fun or work or something else, understanding
a consumer's motives once he or she logs on is a necessity. But the
experts don't seem to agree on what people want.

Some folks see the web as a vast, new field for advertising messages, assuming
that while people may want to do something else, if we can entice them
with flash, we can sort of trick them into paying attention to our
products and services.

Guess what. That’s not gonna happen.

Other folks seem to subscribe to the notion that people online are looking for
entertainment on the Internet, and therefore they construct messages aimed at persuading
while playing
. And, in other cases, the time-honored direct-response
model wins out: Grab people when you can, get 'em to take an action,
and then market, market, market.
The answer may be that the consumer has and
wants a lot more control than we give him/her credit for.

Today, webmeisters are in control. Sort of. In a perfect cyberworld,
people will be in control. Sort of.

Two recent studies shed light upon this dilemma. One was conducted
by Zatso. The other was conducted by the Pew Research Center. Zatso and
Pew. (Those guys didn’t spend much time reading
"how-to-name-your-company" books, I guess.) Still, both of their
studies illuminated the answer as to what people want to do online.

The answer, as most answers, is very utilitarian: People want to accomplish
something online. They're not aimless surfers hoping to discover a
cybertreasure. Instead, the average Net user turns out to be a goal-oriented
person interested in finding information and communicating with others
– in doing something he or she set out to do.

Look at the Zatso study. "A View of the 21st Century News Consumer"
looked at people's news reading habits on the web. It revealed that reading
and getting news
was the most popular online activity after email.
The guerrilla thinks, "That means email is number one. How might I
capitalize on that?"

One out of three respondents reported that they read news online every day, with
their interests expanding geographically — local news was of the most
interest, U.S. news the least.

Personalization was seen as a benefit, too. Seventy-five percent of
respondents said that they wanted news on demand and nearly two out of three
wanted personalized news. The subjects surveyed liked the idea that they,
not some media outlet, controlled the news they saw. They feel they're better
equipped to select what they want to see than a professional editor.
Again, control seems to be the issue. Again, guerrillas think of ways to market
by putting the prospect in control.

The Pew Research Center study revealed that regular net users were more
connected with their friends and family than those who didn't use the Internet
on a regular basis.

Almost two-thirds of the 3,500 respondents said they felt that email brought
them closer to family and friends — significant when combined with the fact
that 91% of them used email on a regular basis. That’s 91%. It
took VCRs 25 years to achieve such market penetration.

What did people in this study seem to be doing online when they weren't doing
email? Half were going online regularly to purchase products and
services
, and nearly 75 percent were going online to search for
information
about their hobbies or purchases they were planning to make.
Sixty-four percent of respondents visited travel sites, and 62 percent visited
weather-related sites. Over half did educational research, and 54 percent
were hunting for data about health and medicine.

A surprising 47 percent regularly visited government web sites, and 38 percent
researched job opportunities. Instant messaging was used by 45 percent of
these users, and a third of them played games online. Even with all the hype in
the media, only 12 percent said they traded stocks online.

What does this mean to e-marketers? It means that if you’re constructing
a site for goal-oriented consumers, you'd better make sure you can help
facilitate their seeking
. Rather than focus on entertainment, flash,
and useless splash screens, the most effective sites are those that help
people get the information
they want when they need it.
Straightforward data, information that invites comparison, and straight talk are
going to win the day.

A client buddy of mine showed me his website which heralds his retail location
and attempts to sell nothing online. He said it has been the biggest
moneymaker
in the history of his 35-year old company. Then he
apologized for its lack of glitter and special effects. He asked how his
site could be so successful even though it lacked anything to add razzmatazz and
dipsydazzle.

Now, you know the answer.

Jay Conrad Levinson is probably the most respected marketer in the world.
He is the inventor of "Guerrilla Marketing" and is responsible for
some of the most outrageous marketing campaigns in history -- including
the "Marlboro Man" -- the most successful ad campaign in history.
In his latest book, "Put
Your Internet Marketing on Steroids
" Jay reveals how you can use
marketing steroids legally to make your business insanely profitable.

Five Things You Can Learn about Advertising from Dr. Frank B. Robinson

The Strange Story of the "Crackpot" Mail-Order Prophet
(or) Five Things You Can Learn about Advertising from Dr. Frank B. Robinson

by Joe Vitale

Are you having trouble selling your product or service? Are you feeling like the chaotic state
of the world prevents you from succeeding? Are you wondering how you can increase your
sales in the most cost effective ways? Are you feeling like your competition is breathing down your neck?

Many of my clients feel the same way. They want to succeed, to make a nice living in their
business, but they feel overwhelmed, uncertain, and even despondent. They feel they have
too much competition. They feel marketing doesn't work, or takes too much work. They feel
people don't have enough money today to spend on what they are selling.

And that's why I think it's time to reveal the strange story of the long forgotten "crackpot" mail-order prophet.

During the Great Depression of the 1930s the average person didn't have enough money to
feed themselves or their family, let alone enough extra cash to order books through the mail.
Yet during those lean years one man made a fortune selling books and courses entirely by
mail. His name was Frank B. Robinson. He founded "Psychiana," the world's eighth largest
religion and the world's largest mail-order religion.

You may never have heard of him or his movement before today. But during the 1930s and
40s, Robinson's name traveled around the world. Millions of people read his books, studied
his lessons, and practiced his methods. The press called his positive thinking, new thought
religion a "media business" because Robinson advertised so heavily.

In 1928 Robinson wrote an ad for his new philosophy that began with the headline, "I
TALKED WITH GOD." An advertising agency in Spokane, Washington said the ad would
never work. But Frank believed in his message and trusted his hunches. He borrowed
$2,500 from people he barely knew, spent most of it on printing his lessons, and invested $400 to
place his ad in "Psychology Magazine."

That ad pulled 5,300 responses. Robinson ran it in numerous magazines and it always pulled
a 3% to 21% response. Within a year he had a full-time job fulfilling requests for his books
and lessons, soon shipping a million pieces of mail a year out of his office in Moscow, Idaho.
The post office in that little town had to move into a bigger building to handle all the mail.

Robinson's ads appeared in 140 newspapers, 180 magazines, and on 60 radio stations, all at
the same time. His postal bill in 1938 amounted to $16,000 and his printing bill hit $40,000.
He received 60,000 pieces of mail a day, reached more than two million people, and sent his
message to 67 countries---all within one year of running his first ad.

"Advertising is educating the public to who you are, where you are, and what service you
have to offer," Robinson wrote. "The only man or organization who should not advertise is the
one who has nothing to offer."

What can we learn from Frank B. Robinson?

1. He believed in his product. When you don't believe in what you are trying to sell, it shows.
It'll show in your lack of commitment to your marketing, in poor advertising, in poor
service, or in other ways. As I mention in my book, The Seven Lost Secrets of Success, sincerity is one
of the "lost secrets" to success. Robinson had sincerity. While his movement made tons
of money, Robinson accepted only $9,000 a year as his salary. Whether you call him a
crackpot or a savior, he believed in his product. He knew he had something people wanted. In
fact, Robinson sold his religious lessons with a money-back guarantee.

2. He advertised relentlessly. If you don't tell people that you exist, they won't know it. The
reason you aren't aware of Robinson or his movement today is because he's dead. (He died
in 1948). No one is advertising his message. Without consistent and persistent advertising to
educate the public, the world won't know of your business.

3. He tracked his results. Robinson believed in the spiritual world, but he also knew he lived
on the earth plane where numbers matter. He tracked responses from his ads to know what
worked and what didn't. For example, astrology magazines brought him an 18% response to
his ads while national weekly papers brought 3%. Knowing that, Robinson could invest more
money in larger ads in the better pulling magazines. Find out where your business comes from and focus more advertising in that area.

4. He continued to create products. Robinson knew once people tasted his goods, they
would want more. He wrote 28 books during his short lifetime. These, along with his
correspondence courses, gave him a deep product line. Your current satisfied customers will always be your goldmine. Create more for them to
buy.

5. He remained optimistic. Despite the harsh reality of the Great Depression years, and
despite competition from religious institutions that had been around for centuries, Robinson
flourished. He didn't believe anyone or anything could stop him. When you have that strong of
an inner conviction, nothing CAN stop you. If you think you have competition with a similar
business in the same town, consider what it must have been like for Robinson to have such
empires as the Catholic Church, the US government, and famous ministers and politicians
trying to close him down!

Whatever you may think of Robinson or "Psychiana," you have to admit he knew how to advertise his business.

"After all, it's the results in human lives that count," he wrote in his 1941 book, The Strange
Autobiography of Frank B. Robinson. "Talk is cheap."

What are you going to do now to increase your business? Remember, talk is cheap!

Affiliate Management Solution For Serious Affiliate Marketers

This is your chance to test your own affiliate program RISK FREE for 90 days -- and make $1,000's in extra sales with FREE advertising!

Review: AssocTRAC 4.0 -- Affiliate Management Solution

Okay, the thing that stops people from starting their own affiliate programs is the cost. I know that. I mean, getting started can cost you literally thousands of dollars. And that's simply not realistic for many online business owners.

For example: To get started with one of the biggest affiliate management programs out there (I'm not naming names!) will cost you a MINIMUM of $11,500 in your first year alone! And it could be a LOT more!

And to make matters worse, many of these companies actually penalize you for being successful. In other words, the more money YOU make, the more they will demand that you pay them!

That's why I was so excited when I discovered AssocTRAC 4.0. It's a complete affiliate management solution that gives you absolutely everything you need to start and run your own affiliate program AND it lets you do it without all the traps that so many of the other affiliate management programs try to lure you into.

(For example, AssocTRAC does NOT take a percentage of every sale you make, and it doesn't force you to send traffic that is rightfully yours to some other site like so many other programs do.)

And here's the kicker: For a limited time, you can even try it out risk free for 90 days. That way, you can prove to yourself how easy it is to enlist an army of affiliates who will work day and night for you promoting your products, and if it isn't exactly what you're looking for, you don't pay a dime!

I give AssocTRAC 4.0 a solid 10 out of 10 rating. If you're at all considering your own affiliate program (and even if you haven't really thought about it before now) you owe it to your business to check this out!
